Last weekend, 6-7 September 2013, British media art centre FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in Liverpool hosted a unique exhibition together with German arts centre Bauhaus in Dessau. Ready to Cloud is an installation created by Berlin-based art collective The Constitute. For this installation the artists use 3D-scans of participants and load them into the Cloud, thereby ‘beaming’ their avatar in real-time from Liverpool to Dessau or vice versa. Teleportation as is imagined in Star Trek was one of The Constitute’s sources of inspiration.
